Sim Racing Motion Systems UK
A sim racing motion system uses game telemetry to physically move the driver, seat or complete simulator in response to the behaviour of the virtual vehicle.
Depending on the system and configuration, motion can provide physical cues associated with braking, acceleration, cornering, suspension movement, kerbs, road surfaces, elevation changes and loss of traction.
Our range covers everything from pedal haptics and active belt tensioners through to seat movers, modular motion actuators and complete 3DOF, 4DOF, 5DOF and 6DOF motion platforms.
SimRacer UK supplies motion and haptic hardware for home, professional and commercial simulators, with complete simulator design, pre-build, configuration, delivery and installation services also available.
Shop Sim Racing Motion Systems
Different motion technologies provide different types of physical feedback, which means there isn’t one motion system that is right for every simulator.
Our range includes motion hardware from Qubic System and MOZA Racing, together with haptic feedback systems from MOZA Racing and SIMAGIC.
Qubic System provides a broad range extending from the QS-H13 seat mover and QS-BT1 belt tensioner through to QS-210 and QS-220 actuator systems, QS-CH2 traction loss, QS-V20 and professional QS-S25 and QS-S35 6DOF motion platforms.
MOZA Racing offers the HMA150 Haptic Motion System, providing another modular actuator-based route into full-cockpit motion.
For targeted physical feedback without moving the cockpit, MOZA and SIMAGIC pedal haptics can reproduce supported telemetry effects directly through the driver’s feet.
Qubic QS-210 Motion Systems
The Qubic System QS-210 is a compact linear actuator system designed for high-performance motion simulation.
QS-210 actuators provide 60mm of travel, speeds up to 400mm/s and acceleration up to 0.6G, with system latency below 8ms.
Different configurations allow QS-210 actuators to form increasingly advanced motion systems. A four-actuator 3DOF configuration provides pitch, roll and true heave, allowing the complete simulator platform to move in response to braking, acceleration, cornering and vertical track inputs.
For many high-end home simulators, the QS-210 provides an excellent balance of motion performance, compact dimensions and upgradeability.
Qubic QS-220 Motion Systems
The Qubic System QS-220 provides greater actuator travel and performance than the QS-210.
With 100mm of actuator travel and significantly higher maximum movement speeds, QS-220 systems provide a larger motion envelope for more advanced simulator installations.
The QS-220 is particularly suited to premium home simulators, professional applications and advanced motion builds where greater travel and motion capability are priorities.
It also forms the actuator foundation of more advanced Qubic systems, including the QS-S25 6DOF platform.
Qubic QS-210 vs QS-220
The QS-210 and QS-220 follow the same modular approach but provide different levels of motion performance.
| Specification | QS-210 | QS-220 |
|---|---|---|
| Actuator Stroke | 60mm | 100mm |
| Maximum Velocity | 400mm/s | Up to 800mm/s |
| Maximum Acceleration | 0.6G | Up to 0.8G |
| System Latency | <8ms | <8ms |
| 3DOF Configuration | Yes | Yes |
| Best Suited To | High-end home & professional motion | Higher-performance motion builds |
The QS-210 provides an excellent balance between performance and cost for a serious motion simulator.
The QS-220 is the better choice where increased travel, speed and a larger motion envelope are priorities.
Qubic QS-H13 Seat Mover
The Qubic System QS-H13 takes a different approach to full-cockpit motion by moving the driver’s seat rather than the entire simulator.
Its compact 2DOF seat mover configuration provides physical movement directly underneath the driver while the steering wheel and pedals can remain stationary.
This can make a seat mover particularly attractive where available space, cockpit configuration or budget makes a full actuator-based motion platform less suitable.
The QS-H13 can also be combined with additional physical-feedback systems, including the Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner.
Qubic QS-CH2 Traction Loss System
The Qubic System QS-CH2 adds surge and yaw to a compatible Qubic motion simulator.
Yaw movement provides physical feedback associated with rear-end movement, oversteer and traction loss, while surge introduces additional longitudinal movement associated with acceleration and braking.
When combined with a compatible 3DOF Qubic actuator system, the QS-CH2 can create a 5DOF configuration providing:
Pitch + Roll + Heave + Surge + Yaw
This makes traction loss particularly interesting for rally, drift and performance driving simulation, where rear-end movement is an important part of interpreting vehicle behaviour.
Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner
The Qubic System QS-BT1 Seat Belt Tensioner provides physical feedback without needing to move the cockpit.
Its two independently controlled direct drive channels can generate up to 200N of force per channel, dynamically changing harness tension according to simulator telemetry.
This can provide physical cues associated with braking, lateral acceleration, cornering and other supported vehicle effects through the driver’s upper body.
The QS-BT1 can operate as a standalone physical-feedback system or alongside a compatible Qubic motion platform.
Qubic QS-V20 Motion System
The Qubic System QS-V20 provides an integrated approach to high-end motion simulation.
Rather than adding individual actuators to an existing cockpit, the QS-V20 combines the cockpit and motion platform into a dedicated system designed around 4DOF motion with traction loss.
It is particularly suited to customers looking for a purpose-designed premium motion simulator rather than converting an existing static cockpit.
The QS-V20 can also be combined with additional Qubic hardware such as the QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner for further physical feedback.
Qubic QS-S25 6DOF Motion Platform
The Qubic System QS-S25 moves beyond conventional 3DOF and 5DOF sim racing configurations with a complete 6DOF motion platform.
Six degrees of freedom provide movement across:
Surge + Sway + Heave + Roll + Pitch + Yaw
This allows the platform to reproduce longitudinal, lateral and vertical movement together with rotation around all three axes.
The QS-S25 is designed for high-end home, professional, motorsport, commercial and training simulation, with applications extending beyond sim racing into flight simulation.
Its integrated platform architecture provides a very different proposition from adding individual actuators to an existing aluminium profile cockpit.
Qubic QS-S35 6DOF Motion Platform
The Qubic System QS-S35 sits at the highest end of the Qubic motion range and provides a professional 6DOF motion platform with an extended motion envelope.
Like the QS-S25, it provides surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch and yaw, but is designed for applications requiring substantially greater movement and a more extensive professional simulator platform.
The QS-S35 provides more than 342mm of total heave movement, together with large surge and sway ranges, making it suitable for advanced racing, flight, professional training and commercial simulation.
For customers considering QS-S25 or QS-S35 systems, SimRacer UK can provide advice on specification, installation requirements and the additional simulator hardware required to create a complete system.
MOZA HMA150 Haptic Motion System
The MOZA HMA150 Haptic Motion System provides another route into advanced full-cockpit motion.
A four-actuator HMA150 system creates 3DOF motion with pitch, roll and heave, physically moving the simulator in response to driving or flight simulation inputs.
Each HMA150 actuator provides up to 150mm of stroke, while the four-actuator system supports up to 350kg platform payload.
With a 250kg payload, MOZA specifies speeds up to 300mm/s and acceleration greater than 1G, providing substantial performance for a modular motion system.
The HMA150 also supports a 0–200Hz vibration range, allowing the actuators to reproduce higher-frequency haptic effects alongside larger platform movement.
Control is handled through MOZA Motion Manager, with MOZA also offering AI Motion technology for supported titles without native telemetry.
For drivers already using MOZA Racing hardware, the HMA150 provides an increasingly integrated route into a complete MOZA-based sim racing system.
Qubic Motion vs MOZA HMA150
Qubic System and MOZA Racing now provide different routes into full-cockpit motion.
The MOZA HMA150 is particularly interesting for drivers wanting a four-actuator 3DOF system with substantial 150mm actuator travel and integration with MOZA’s wider sim racing hardware and software.
Qubic System provides a considerably broader motion range, extending from seat movers and modular actuator platforms through to traction loss, belt tensioning and complete professional 6DOF platforms.
The right choice therefore depends on your cockpit, budget, required degrees of freedom, available space and future upgrade plans, rather than simply comparing individual actuator specifications.
SimRacer UK can help specify either approach as part of a complete simulator build.
Sim Racing Pedal Haptics
Not every physical-feedback upgrade requires the seat or cockpit to move.
Pedal haptics provide targeted telemetry-driven feedback directly through the pedals, adding physical cues through the driver’s feet.
They can be used on a completely static simulator or combined with motion and belt tensioning to create multiple physical-feedback channels.
Our range includes haptic solutions from both SIMAGIC and MOZA Racing.
SIMAGIC Haptic Pedal Reactors
SIMAGIC Haptic Pedal Reactors provide dedicated telemetry-driven feedback through compatible pedal installations.
Depending on the reactor, pedal configuration and software, haptic feedback can be used to communicate supported effects such as ABS activation, traction control and other vehicle events directly through the pedals.
This provides a relatively accessible way to introduce physical feedback without the space or investment required for a complete motion system.
Pedal haptics can also remain useful after upgrading to motion because they provide targeted feedback through the driver’s feet rather than reproducing larger vehicle movements.
MOZA Pedal Haptic Feedback
The MOZA Pedal Haptic Feedback system provides telemetry-driven vibration through compatible MOZA pedals.
The MOZA Pedal Haptic Feedback Kit is compatible with SR-P Lite, SR-P, SR-P2 and CRP2 pedals and is configured through MOZA Pit House.
This allows MOZA pedal users to add physical feedback without replacing their complete pedal system.
For drivers wanting a more advanced force-feedback pedal solution, the MOZA mBooster Active Pedal goes considerably further.
Rather than simply providing vibration, the mBooster uses a high-torque motor to actively change pedal forces and reproduce effects including ABS, traction control, engine vibration, vehicle vibration, gear shifts and G-force feedback.
The mBooster can be configured as a brake, throttle or clutch through MOZA Pit House and can also be combined with CRP2 pedals.
Pedal Haptics vs Active Pedals
Although both provide physical feedback through the driver’s feet, pedal haptics and active pedals aren’t the same thing.
A haptic module adds vibration and tactile effects to a conventional pedal.
An active pedal such as the MOZA mBooster can dynamically alter pedal forces and behaviour using a motorised force-feedback system.
For drivers who already own compatible pedals, a haptic module provides a relatively straightforward upgrade.
Active pedals represent a more advanced solution for drivers who want both configurable pedal feel and dynamic force feedback.
Motion Systems vs Haptic Feedback
Motion and haptic systems provide different types of physical feedback and can work together.
A motion system physically moves the seat or cockpit to reproduce larger vehicle movements and acceleration cues.
A belt tensioner applies force through the racing harness.
Pedal haptics and active pedals communicate targeted effects through the driver’s feet.
A high-end simulator can therefore combine:
Motion – physical vehicle movement
Belt tensioner – braking and body-load feedback
Pedal haptics / active pedals – targeted feedback through the driver’s feet
Direct drive wheelbase – steering and tyre feedback through the driver’s hands
These systems complement each other rather than necessarily being alternatives.
What Does DOF Mean in Sim Racing?
DOF stands for Degrees of Freedom and describes the different axes along which a simulator can move.
| Motion Axis | What It Represents |
|---|---|
| Pitch | Forward and backward rotation |
| Roll | Side-to-side rotation |
| Heave | Vertical movement |
| Surge | Forward and backward linear movement |
| Sway | Side-to-side linear movement |
| Yaw | Rotation around the vertical axis |
Different motion systems reproduce different combinations of these movements.
The number of degrees of freedom is useful when comparing systems, but more DOF doesn’t automatically mean the right system for every simulator.
Actuator speed, travel, latency, payload, cockpit design, software, available space and budget should also be considered.
2DOF vs 3DOF vs 5DOF vs 6DOF Motion
A 2DOF system provides movement across two axes. A seat mover, for example, can provide pitch and roll cues directly through the driver’s seat.
A 3DOF actuator system can provide pitch, roll and true heave, introducing vertical movement alongside rotational movement.
A compatible 5DOF configuration can add surge and yaw, introducing longitudinal and traction-loss movement.
A 6DOF motion platform adds all six fundamental axes:
Surge + Sway + Heave + Roll + Pitch + Yaw
Professional platforms such as the Qubic QS-S25 and QS-S35 use 6DOF architecture to provide movement across all six axes.
The right configuration depends on what you want the simulator to reproduce and how much space, budget and payload capacity are available.
Seat Mover vs Full Cockpit Motion
A seat mover moves the driver’s seat while the wheelbase and pedals can remain stationary.
A full-cockpit actuator system moves the simulator platform so the driver, seat, wheelbase and pedals move together.
Neither approach is automatically better for every simulator.
Seat movers provide a compact way of applying physical cues directly through the driver’s body, while full-cockpit systems provide unified movement of the complete driving position.
Can Motion Be Added to an Existing Sim Racing Cockpit?
Many motion systems can be installed on suitable aluminium profile sim racing cockpits, but compatibility needs to be considered carefully.
Motion introduces dynamic loads that aren’t present in a conventional static simulator.
The cockpit must therefore be sufficiently rigid, while total moving weight, actuator placement, mounting arrangement, seat, wheelbase, pedals, displays and other hardware all need to be considered.
Some systems are designed specifically to upgrade an existing cockpit, while integrated platforms such as the Qubic QS-V20, QS-S25 and QS-S35 take a different approach by incorporating the motion platform and simulator structure.
If you already have a cockpit, SimRacer UK can help determine which motion options are suitable before you purchase.
Is a Sim Racing Motion System Worth It?
Motion becomes particularly attractive once the core simulator already has a good cockpit, direct drive wheelbase, performance pedals and display system.
A direct drive wheelbase provides detailed steering and tyre feedback through your hands, but it cannot physically move your body in response to acceleration, braking, cornering and track conditions.
Motion adds those additional physical cues.
Which upgrade makes sense depends on what you want to achieve:
Want targeted pedal feedback?
Consider MOZA or SIMAGIC pedal haptics.
Want advanced force feedback through the pedals?
Consider a MOZA mBooster Active Pedal.
Want braking and body-load feedback through the harness?
Consider a Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner.
Want compact seat movement?
Consider a Qubic QS-H13 Seat Mover.
Want full-cockpit 3DOF motion?
Consider a Qubic QS-210/QS-220 configuration or MOZA HMA150.
Want additional surge and traction loss?
Consider a compatible Qubic system with QS-CH2.
Want complete professional 6DOF motion?
Consider the Qubic QS-S25 or QS-S35.
These technologies can also be combined as part of a more advanced simulator.
Motion Systems for Home Sim Racing
Motion simulation is no longer limited to professional driver training facilities.
Compact seat movers and modular actuator systems make advanced motion practical for high-end home sim racing setups, provided there is sufficient space and a suitable cockpit.
Systems such as the Qubic QS-H13, QS-210, QS-220 and MOZA HMA150 provide different approaches to introducing motion into a home simulator.
A modular system can also provide an upgrade path, allowing the simulator to develop as your requirements and budget change.
Professional & Commercial Motion Simulators
At the other end of the range, systems such as the Qubic QS-S25 and QS-S35 provide complete professional-grade 6DOF platforms for advanced simulation.
These systems are suitable for applications extending beyond home sim racing into professional motorsport, driver training, commercial entertainment and flight simulation.
SimRacer UK can help specify complete simulator systems incorporating the motion platform, cockpit, controls, displays and gaming PC, with pre-build and configuration available before delivery and installation.

FAQs
What is the best sim racing motion system for home use?
There isn’t one best motion system for every home simulator. A Qubic QS-H13 provides compact seat-based motion, while Qubic QS-210/QS-220 and MOZA HMA150 systems are designed for drivers wanting full-cockpit actuator motion. Available space, cockpit compatibility, required movement and budget should all be considered.
What is the difference between 2DOF and 3DOF motion?
A 2DOF system provides movement across two axes. A 3DOF full-cockpit configuration can provide pitch, roll and heave, adding true vertical movement alongside rotational movement.
What is 6DOF motion?
A 6DOF motion system can move across surge, sway and heave while also rotating through roll, pitch and yaw. Qubic’s QS-S25 and QS-S35 are professional 6DOF motion platforms.
Should I choose Qubic or MOZA for sim racing motion?
It depends on the simulator. The MOZA HMA150 provides a modular four-actuator 3DOF solution, while Qubic offers a broader range extending from seat movers and modular actuators through to traction loss, belt tensioning and complete 6DOF platforms. SimRacer UK can help compare the appropriate systems for your requirements.
What does traction loss add to a motion simulator?
Traction loss introduces yaw movement, helping communicate rear-end movement associated with oversteer, slides and loss of grip. The Qubic QS-CH2 can also add surge to a compatible motion configuration.
Do I need motion to use a Qubic QS-BT1 Belt Tensioner?
No. The QS-BT1 can operate independently on a suitable static simulator or be incorporated into a compatible Qubic motion system.
Are pedal haptics the same as motion?
No. Pedal haptics provide targeted physical feedback directly through the pedals, while a motion system physically moves the driver, seat or cockpit. They can be used separately or together.
What is the difference between MOZA pedal haptics and the mBooster Active Pedal?
MOZA pedal haptic modules add tactile feedback to compatible conventional pedals. The mBooster is an active force-feedback pedal, allowing its motor to dynamically alter pedal forces and reproduce supported vehicle effects as well as changing the fundamental pedal feel.
Can I add motion to my existing aluminium profile cockpit?
Potentially. Qubic actuator systems and the MOZA HMA150 can be installed on suitable cockpit configurations, but rigidity, mounting, total moving weight and hardware layout need to be checked before purchasing.
Can SimRacer UK build a complete motion simulator?
Yes. SimRacer UK can specify and supply the cockpit, motion system, wheelbase, steering wheel, pedals, displays and gaming PC, with pre-build, configuration, delivery and installation available for complete simulator projects.
